Young Actor's Institute

“The response to our summer sessions have been so strong, that we sell out the teen and youth classes every season! Be sure to sign up early as we usually close out with 10 kids in each class.”

Our Goal is to take your child and transform them into an emotionally live actor of depth, imagination and truth.

We work with professional actors from the ages of 9-18 using several acting techniques and teaching perspectives including Meisner and Stanislavski. This develops a level of skill that is unsurpassed by many schools of our kind.  Our program will help your child absorb the core building blocks of one of the strongest acting foundations available

“By the way, Rosa just booked a principle role in a St Augustine Tourism commercial thanks to her acting classes!!!! …Suzanne Fallon

“My daughter has taken acting classes from on-scene commercials to auditioning in Florida and NY. But her goal is to be a film actress that required a higher level of training. The problem was, we could not find an affordable acting intensive class for the Meisner technique for young teens… that was until when we found the Young Actors Institute. The professionalism found here is on the same caliber as many classes found in NYC! So, much that we travel from Naples weekly for this class and the fantastic instructors!” …..Lisa Absher

The aim of The Young Actors Institute is not only to improve acting skills, but also to increase self-esteem, strengthen communication and teamwork, stimulate creative thought, and foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Our system is designed to immerse young adults in the art of acting by mastering the essential principles of the craft.

The curriculum includes audition seminars, improvisational workshops, voice and speech training, movement training, and scene study.

We will explore core acting skills including: physical and vocal warm-ups, improvisation, listening and reacting, scene skills, monologue auditions, on camera skills, stage awareness, industry awareness, creating a character, activating needs, developing spontaneity and focus, and communicating effectively with others.

“I feel that the quality of training and uplifting environment sets your program apart from any in our area. It makes it worth driving two hours each Monday night to have her take part in the class.” …..Stephanie Barber

Students will be challenged to discover new ways of thinking, expressing themselves, and creating ideas. It is a fun, high-energy program that allows young people to fully engage their imaginations as they experience the thrill of creating characters.

The Young Actor’s Institute is a professional training program teaching the craft of acting from foundation to career.

Tuesdays from 4-6:00 PM at The Studio in Longwood. This includes a drink and a snack right after school. This class is an extension of our in school technique classes. In this after school program we expand upon and develop what is started in the daily classroom and work on expanding the ability. We work with real scripts that are casting here in town each week and students can get submitted for work that they are right for.
