Triple Threat is a new reality show developed by The Pop Shop for performers 12-17 that can sing, dance, and act. The purpose of the program is to show viewers what it is like to truly pursue the entertainment industry. Television audiences will get to travel along with several Pop Shop performers throughout the season and experience along side them, all of the ups and downs that the "Industry " has to offer. Viewers will learn what the performers learn. They will be taught right alongside the actual participants and watch as develop their performance skills and work through issues and conflicts along the way. They will see how working as a team and supporting each other differs from the "every man for himself" type of attitude. Viewers will cheer as some of the students achieve their goals and be saddened as others miss opportunities and waste their talents and friendships along the way.
The 1st place winner will recieve $5,000.00 in cash and prizes and be shoped to record labels.
Contestants will compete in a Talent "Fire Round" - including 15 seconds of Singing, 20 seconds of Dancing and 20 Seconds of acting. They will each learn new music every week and learn how to put their own spin on it and compete for the ultimate goal of The Pop Shop's 1st Triple Threat Winner!
Registration for The Triple Threat Show happens 2 ways. 1) You can pre-register by calling or e-mailing to get a time. Only pre-registered contestants will be guaranteed an audition slot on audition day. 2) You can register the day of the audition in open slots that are still available.
What are the time, date and location for registration?
Check the updates section on our website regularly for any additional dates and locations, if we do not find what we are looking for in this 1st day of auditions, we will schedule another round of auditions at a location near you. What do we need to bring to the audition?
When you arrive at the audition you MUST have one form of ID that shows proof of your age and a non returnable photograph stapled to your registration form. (for example, a birth certificate, driver's license, passport or school ID card) You must have a parent or guardian accompany you with your parental agreement signed NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 5 YEARS ARE ALLOWED AT THE AUDITION.
What do I do on audition day?
At that time, you must bring your one form of ID. You should also print out and sign the Release form on the website at www.thepopshopinc.com and bring it with you to the audition along with a non returnable photo. The auditions will begin sometime around 8:00 a.m. on the audition day. Audition start and/or finish time is at the discretion of the Producer. You will need to be in your seat at that time. You should dress in comfortable casual clothes that you can move in. Please remember that you may appear on TV so be sure to look good!
Will everyone in line have the opportunity to audition on the audition day?
This will depend on how many people show up for the auditions. Although we would love to audition everyone who shows up on the day of the event, we will only guarantee to see those you have pre-registered. However, If our time is running short, the Producer may walk around the venue to pick out people to audition (regardless of how early they registered or their seat numbers) based on performing ability, look, style, personality and other factors, at Producer's sole discretion.
Are auditions by appointment or is it "cattle call" style?
Auditions are by appointment. 4 performers at a time will line up next to each other on stage and sing 15 seconds of an accapella song. Once we have gone through 40 contestants, you will be shown a simple dance combination and asked to repeat it again in groups of four. Auditioners that score high enough with be invited to a callback.
Do you charge for the auditions and will I appear on TV?
No. Auditions are free. But all auditions will be taped for possible use on our Television show.
Do you charge to appear on the show?
No. There is no charge to appear on the show.
If you make the top 12 you can train at home on your own, for free. We will give you a video of the dances and a cd of the songs to learn.
Or you can join our tour group for $14.50 an hour and train with the TV show choreographers, song writers and the actual judges on a weekly basis.
We will be shooting the series on Tuesday nights during our Tour Group rehearsals. Each week you will be trained in Voice, Acting and Dance to prepare for the TV show competition. This will give you your best chance to succeed and truly grow as a performer. Performers in our tour group have been offered recording contracts with major record labels, Opened up for celebrities, appeared in movies and Emmy Award winning TV Shows.
As a tour group member, you will also get the chance to perform at our many venues all over Central Florida including places like, Universal Studios, Disney Village, The TD Waterhouse, Sea World as well as many Televised parades and Celebrity appearances.
Is there a charge for parking at the venue(s)?
Most of the venues we will audition at will have both free and paid parking based on availability.
Can I bring my friends and family for support?
Only one parent or guardian may enter the audition space along with you based on available seats. If we run out of space your guardian may be asked to wait for you outside.
How long will the auditions take?
We are expecting the auditions to take about 4 hours, but you should be prepared for it to go longer based on numbers.
